We are always looking to improve the way that children experience school. Getting to school in the morning and leaving the care of a parent before coming into the classroom can be quite a transition for a lot of children.
To help with this we will be coming into school in the morning a little differently from next Monday onwards.
The gates will open at 8.30am as normal. Children will then be able to come into the classroom (as they arrive) and settle into a morning activity before the teacher takes the register and begins the day.
We will talk to the children about this in classes and explain that they come into class and start the task. That they need to be in the classroom by 8.40am. Children will no longer play on the playground in the morning and should come straight inside once they have arrived at school. A whistle will sound at 8.40am to ensure everyone knows to come inside.
The routine at the end of the day will remain the same.
Being safe in school and starting the day feeling safe is really important. Please support the class teacher by talking to your child/ren about the changes to the morning routine.
