Parents are able to view the lunch menu and book and pay for your child’s school meals in advance using your Parentpay account.
You must book and pay for your child/ren’s meals on the Parentpay system on the day (prior to 8am) or you are able to book and pay for meals on the system up to 3 weeks in advance.
If you do not yet have an activated Parentpay account and would like your child to have school meals you will need to activate your Parentpay account to be able to use the service. Please notify the office if you need to do this and we will send you your activation information.
Please find below a useful video which shows how to book a meal. At the end of the video there is a link that shows you how to cancel a previously booked meal. If your child is absent from school and you have already booked a meal please ensure you log on and cancel it.
Do I qualify for free school meals?
All children in reception, year 1 and year 2 at state schools in England automatically get free school meals. However, parents and guardians are encouraged to apply for free school meals when they enrol their child in school, as this can help their child’s school to attract additional ‘pupil premium‘ funding to support learning.
From year 3 onwards, children whose parents are in receipt of the following are entitled to free school meals:
- Income Support
- income-based Jobseekers Allowance
- income-related Employment and Support Allowance
- support under Part VI of the Immigration and Asylum Act 1999
- the guaranteed element of State Pension Credit
- Child Tax Credit (provided you’re not also entitled to Working Tax Credit and have an annual gross income of no more than £16,190)
- Working Tax Credit run-on – paid for 4 weeks after you stop qualifying for Working Tax Credit
- Universal Credit.
Children who receive any of the above benefits in their own right (i.e. they get benefits payments directly, instead of through a parent or guardian) can also get free school meals.
